Afternoon chaps,
I'm planning on brewing a Choc Vanilla Milk Porter (an edited version of my very successful Choc Porter) this weekend, but only have about 200g of lactose sugar in stock
My closest decent LHBS is around 1.5 hours away so I can't just duck over to grab some
Would there any noticeable problems with adding the lactose to the fermenter?
I no chill anyway, so I could just hold off emptying the cube into a fermenter until the lactose gets here

Opinions please?

As you eould any other sugar. Dissolve in boiling water or better yet, bring to the boil, add gently.

I was thinking this, thought I'd best just ask first
Might dissolve in 1L of water and boil for 10 minutes before I add to the fermenter

I'd just bring to the boil - should be clean to start, boil is insurance.

All I've ever done is boil first (d2 commercial goes straight in). 10 mins seems unnecessary. Nonetheless 10 mins is worth peace of mind if you feel like doing it.
