I checked my brew today after my first AG and arm display ,and there is no infection yet,how long will it take,It started at 1042 and i has come down 20 since sunday and smells really good still,it is sitting on a nice 18deg in freezer googling nice and slow,should I be still worried,hope not, it smells the goods.

You wouldn't be able to taste the infection yet.
 
If it smells good, RDWHAHB.

I'm guessing its an ale from teh temperatures, I'd be leaving it for 2 weeks total, even if it has stopped after 10 days. Before you bottle/keg it, draw off a sample, smell and taste it before proceeding.
 
If you think its infected, drink from the fermenter before it does itself a mischief. ;)

A new technique no chill, no ferment, no filter, no carb & no infection :p
