Hi all,

Just adjusting my beer line (as always!) .........i usually clamp the hose to the quick disconect and tap...........but have run out of clamps. It is a 5mm ID line an a 6mm barb fitting on the other, can't seem to pull it off by hand so i am hoping it is ok and i don't wake up in the morning with beer all over the place! Anyone out there that doesn 't use clamps with no troubles??

Cheers

5mm ID on a beer line needs to be cut off to get it off. That's good enough proof for me.

got a cable tie..if your worried,if it was hard to on it won't come off..
Hard to get on? Still got sore fingers! even after using hair dryer to soften it.

Cheers

Just dip it into boiling water for a few seconds..... does the job easy.
5mm on 6mm barb is fine without a clamp imo. I had it on my lines in my old fridge without any issues.

I had it like that on my regulator for ages and no issues. Should be fine with liquid.

And if you buy more QDs in the future get the MFL ones, much easier to handle than barbs.

Edit: same applies to any future taps, just get the JG fittings instead of the swivel nut and barb.

Another one here not using clamps, no issues as long as its a tight fit. The way I see it, the pressure we work on is no where near enough to cause a problem with a tight fitting line
