I did my first BIAB about a month ago, along with a "semi" no chill method....I just covered the pots up good and left them out on my cold back porch to cool overnight.
I must say, after bottling the beer and finally getting to try it...( it seems like such a long wait doesn't it?) That the beer turned out very good, and cleared nicely.
I'm convinced that this is a very viable method, and have been telling my friends.
I'm not a new brewer by any means, so I'd done the extracts and all grain methods both, but really love the simplicity of this method.
I have one question and that is my water to grain ratio, with my grain absorption and boil off, I'm having to top up with water, which in turn is messing my OG up.
SO after tweaking some numbers, I've come up with 3.5 quarts to a lb of grain in order to hit my pre-boil measurements.
Does this sound about right?
Thanks in advance for your answers!!
