Tasted my first ever specialty grain addition just before. :chug:

OMG!!!

Made a Morgans Amber Ale can, with 200g crystal steeped @70 for 30 mins.

Sparge water and a coopers BE2 boiled for 60 min, @45 min, 30 min, and 15 min added 15g willamette. At 0 min added 15g Goldings and the can.

Used S04 Yeast, primary 6 days, racked to cube for around 10 days.

Kegged and poured the first one just now.

I have to say i'm mighty impressed!

Slight bitter aftertaste, but sure will mellow in time (If it lasts!)

This will be a definite addition to the brew routine now!!!

edited because it's not really a "Partial" per se....

Good one fixa. :super:

Makes a big difference those hop and grain additions. Won't be long before you do that first partial I'm guessing. :chug:

Congrats on your kit plus extras(specialty and grains).
Willamette are great and will have made a huge difference to your flava's.

I might give this a go, is this a reasonable approximation of your method and ingredient list?

What temperature did you ferment at?

200g of Crystal Malt
45g of Wilamette
15g of Goldings
Cooper's Brew Enhancer 2
Morgans Amber Ale Kit
S04 Safale Yeast

Boil Water in brewpot
Add 200g crystal steeped @ 70c for 30 mins
Sparge water and a coopers BE2 boiled for 60 min
During the boil @ 45 min, 30 min, and 15 min added 15g willamette
0 min added 15g Goldings and the Morgans Amber Ale can
S04 Yeast, primary 6 days, racked to cube for around 10 days

I have done this one before it comes out very nice with not to much body.

It tastes alot like a james squire amber ale. I loved it and it only lasted for around 1 week in my keg because I was in love with the taste.

S04 Safale Yeast

Keep this strain as close to 18c as poss, don't let it get over 20c of it becomes a bit fruity/fusely from past experience.

Sounds the same cynicide... I brewed around 19 degrees, because i didn't have temp control at the time. Its a ripper mate, you'll love it. Kinda JS amber ale.
