Thanx Fixa. I'm eagerly awaiting your answers.
The kettle height didn't look like it was that far off the ground.
I've worked out the height of my rig, if built like yours, would have the top of the HLT bashing against the patio members....damn. Thought I was allowing too much in between the vessels, but yours looks similar so that's why I'm interested in the o/all height.
The way I'm looking at doing at the moment...maybe; The kettle and the mashtun on the frame, but the mashtun will have a winch attached so I can raise it from ground level to above the kettle.
The HLT will be on a seperate table nect to the frame (hence the need to drop the tun o the ground). That way I can still use filtered water and don't have to carry 15L jugs of water up a ladder to pour into the HLT. And it means the o/all height is a lot less so I can fit it under the patio for brewing in winter.

sweet. will post dimensions for you tommorow.

Cheers.
The other option is just to go and buy a march pump...but I feel that's a bit defeatist :D

No man :(
Still waiting to finish off the pots....sooooo close though.... I can almost taste that first AG Beer

ok..mika the height from ground to top of HLT is 2.22m. Could prob be lowered by 5cms or so, i have a large gradient from mash tun to kettle, so could be shorter. The man supports are made of 4 piecesof 20 x 70mm made into a square. I can try take a photo if you can't picture how they go together..
Best of luck, if you need anymore measurements or anything, just let me know..
and yes, a march pump is unnatural. gravity is your friend! and free!!!!!

Cheers Fixa....That's about the height I came to. Still won't fit under the patio unfortunately.
I think I get the box section idea, from that I can work out what size steel to use.
Thanks again.

good job fixa , hope the wood stands up to the task , it looks nice and solid , but that wont stop flames, excellent work !!!

I had intended to brew today. However, the HLT decided to leak a little around a newly installed fitting, then when i transferred the water into the Mash Tun, it decided to leak around the new mashmaster thermometer i have installed. I had previously checked them both fopr leaks... I then gave it up as a bad joke. The beer gods did not want me to brew today.....

I had leaking issues with my mashmaster thermometer too. Did some searching here and it seems you shouldn't use the inside SS washer as it will leak through the thread. Removed that, packed everything up with thread tape again and its now fine. I'm using a larger silicone washer on the inside too.
