Making My Own Ipa

Hey all

how does this one sound?

1 can coopers IPA
1 can amber LME
250g Carared grain steeped
500g LDME
10g Fuggles @ 15
10g EKG @ 15
10g EKG @ 5
10g Fuggles at flameout

just playing around, any constructive criticism completely welcomed

Looks tasty enough to me. Just off the top of my head it looks like the colour might come out slightly dark for style but if you, like me, don't care too much about that then it looks like you're good to go.

If you want more aroma then stick another 10-20g of hops in the last three days of primary or into secondary.
Other than that, just go for it!

That's a lot of malt for the bittering in the Coopers can to balance.

Maybe add bittering hop addition to the boil, say 20-30g boiled for 45 min, any hop
will do and the rest of the Fuggles or EKG packet would be good.

Also, I'd do the flameout addition in EKG and keep the Fuggles at 5 or 10 minutes minimum

Just tested my Coopers IPA and its an absolute ripper after an extended 6 weeks in the primary.

Coopers IPA
1kg DryLME
250g Caramunich 2 steeped for 30 mins 65C
300g raw sugar
18g galaxy 40mins approx
US-05 @18C

made up to 20l

only been in the bottle just over a week but tastes beut already :icon_cheers:

i was thinking ill just drop the 500g of ldme, should that balance it out?

Swap the 500g ldme for dex or table sugar, I reckon.
Get plenty of alcohol in there to balance the hops and malt.
