I am looking for a copy to make Coopers premium light beer

I think this light beer is the best on the market

When I need a light beer or two when driving I drink Coopers

on the road , grey nomading at the moment , and drinking coopers

would like to make some when I get home

If you use a 1.7kg can of almost all of the coopers range it comes out at 2.9%

would like to add some hops to match the original

may add some steeped grain to get a better head and increase the volume to 25l

any thoughts

sounds good.

coopers light is a nice beer

your post almost reads like a poem

because every new sentence begins on a new line

it is very calming for some reason

i should try it

If you can get a hold a carahell to steep I think you'd be on to a winner. It's a bit like carapils but lightly roasted for a touch of colour and flavour. It will help to keep a little body in a light beer.

There is a spreadsheet on here by ianH that may help you calculate alcohol content and volumes when using kits and bits.

Hops might be pride of ringwood or cluster. Just a guess though.

bin told this before

but not as nicely

Another way of introducing some slight sweetness and body is to use a tin of Coopers standard lager and as you are in Metro Sydney you should have no problem getting a 500g tub of Maltose Syrup from a Chinese Supermarket.

That will actually make it a bit stronger, more like a Mid, but very smoooth. If you can get the Syrup brand that comes in a jar, then use half for a less alcoholic beer. The light is quite nice, had a schooner in the pub opposite MHB's shop.

I'd probably want to sneak in some Pride of Ringwood as well, but maybe only 12g simmered for half an hour and strained in.

I like plenty of body in a light beer. One I am drinking now is 2.7%. Finished at 1.017

how did it finish at 1.017 mate; just through the yeast you used? i'd like to try my hand at a BIAB light beer but just figured it meant using less grain and perhaps more body/head-beefing spec malts?

Old one from the memory bank:

Coopers Sparkling Tin
250g Dry Wheat Malt Extract
Windsor Yeast

23L, fermented at 21C. Pretty good. My notes say OG 1.028, FG 1.008. 2.6% before priming.
