Greetings, all, from London Town.

Haven't been here for 12 hours yet, but I've already managed to get into a good few pints of cask ale - each beer better than the last.
Heading to the White Horse in Parsons Green this evening, which is supposed to have about 8 handpumps and other draft ales as well. Might try to make it to the Mitre in Ely as well, which is meant to be a real gem.

Tomorrow I'm considering making the trip out to the Grenwitch Union, which has Meantime on tap (I think meantime own them) - the meantime brewery itself is, unfortunatly, closed for tours.

Anything else I should see over the next few days before I head over to Cardiff?

Went to therake for a few (too many) last night - what a wonderfull place! Borough markets were fantasic, and I piked up a couple of bottles from their market stall (some UK IPAs, sierra nevada Torpedo, Stout, and some Sam Smith Imperial Stout. Crap the selection was excellent. I'll be back there today for more.

Also in the Southwark area is Market Porter if you haven't checked it out it's a must.

And Royal Oak not far away serve very nice pints of Harveys Cask Ale.

Another MUST visit is Cask Pub and Kitchen on Charlwood St. They have beautifully conditioned casks of Dark Star and Thornbridge and others, plus an extensive bottle list.

It's worth having a look at Jerusalem Tavern, Cross Keys, Gunmakers and Cittie of York for a few quality boozers too.

The mitre`s a great pub, used to work about 2 minutes away. About 1/2 mile stagger from there is Ye old cheshire chesse, real old world, was rebuilt after the fire 1666. Good pint of sam smiths last time I was in there.

I used to work nightshift just round the corner from the Market Porter, thanks to the vicinity to Borough Market, the licensing laws are different and it opens at 6am. Many the time I've staggered out of there at 8:30 and scared a few commuters! Recommended for that all-important 6am drop.

The Globe is a strange, tiny pub only about 50 metres away, worth a look too, also an early opener.

The Hope, opposite Smithfield Meat Market is another early morning recommendation, always amusing to sup a dawn pint surrounded by bloodied butchers, at least you know the bangers are fresh. Think it's a Fullers pub, probably not so hot for a drop of Real Ale.

The Princess Louise in Holborn is the pick of the Sam Smiths pubs. The pub is historically beautiful
Go do the fullers brewery tour in Chiswick - it is one of the best tours ive done
The Old Cheshire Cheese is another great Sam Smiths pub.

+1 to The Rake (for international beers) and The Market Porter (for English beer) at the London Borough Markets. Unfortunately I don't think that Utobeer open's until Thursday, but you can buy takeaway from The Rake.

Nate2g mentioned Harveys - I think that it is on full time at The Market Porter (it was certainly on tap when I was there a few weeks ago).

Every town I went to in the UK, first stop I'd find is a book store, then I'd thumb through a copy of the CAMRA Real Ale guide to all the good pubs in the area. No, I'm not a tight arse, but my wife is.
