Why do my liquid yeasts fang into my AG worts like theres no tommorow...
But on a Partial or KnK they are just happy to chug along merrily ?
Both yeasts are made into starters the same way ?
Just a simple question from an observation Ive had...
Sorry..sounds like a dumb arse question..But Id thought Id put it out there.
Cheers

I would say (and I'm no expert) that the high level of fermentables in the AG make it go harder.

Anyone????

This depends on how you make your all grain.

I think kits have a high amount of dextrins in an attempt to add some body. This means less easy food for the yeast

Kabooby :)

not 100% sure, but I think its more to do with the levels of non sugar nutrients, eg nitrates, aminos, etc in fresh wort vs processed extract.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I have a Wyeast American Ale II going ape on Docs Golden Ale at 18d atm :)

I have also noticed differences in fermentability of extracts.
I am currently using this yeast with "extramalt" from ibrew. One nearly exploded, so I would call that kinda ape.
