tastes kinda plain but well balanced needs a more complex hopping schedual but shall be interesting to see if it gets drank or not...

yer went down a treat 4 bottles left and everyone was lovinjg it /its free hahaha great recipe for newbies and so on

Aged for 1 week? Was it even carbed yet?

Sounds simple and tasty though.

I have found that my bottle conditioned extract brews would hit their sweet spot around 4-6 weeks, really lets the flavour develop and smooth out a bit.

yer as i said it was a last minute thing yer it was carbed, and well iv got 4 left so ill see how they go soon thinkign of adding a range of hops next time got some styriangoldings, goldings cascade and might buy some simcoe and bsaaz and do a hopburst

An APA kind of plain? With 60 grams of late hopped Cascade? Try moving the 20 min to 10 dry hop. Use something like Galaxy for bittering. .
Sounds like it was a good birthday anyway. I find the non brewers seem to like the Cascade APA's.
Here is a hop schedule for my latest APA, quite tasty.

13.00 gm Galaxy [15.00 %] (45 min) Hops 24.9 IBU
16.00 gm Amarillo [8.20 %] (10 min) Hops 3.7 IBU
15.00 gm Cascade [6.30 %] (5 min) Hops 2.2 IBU
15.00 gm Cascade [6.30 %] Dry hop 4 days
