kneitinger beer

Has anyone heard of this beer, or tried to clone it ?

I have a work colleague, who is from Germany and has some very good things to say about this beer.

I have not tried it, nor know what style it is. But from his hyped love of this beer I must clone it.

Kneitinger is a smaller brewery in Regensburg, Bavaria.
I used to study there and know their beers quite well.

Their Edelpils has 6 EBC, a lot of Hallertau aroma hops and 5,5% alc. Use a lager yeast with it (its a pils style beer) and carapils.
Other than that I am not doing AG yet so cant give you much more help on that one.

Also their Bock is sensational! Really sensational!
A lot of Vienna malt, 80EBC, 21IBU and 6,8% alc. Very malty and a great easy drinking beer! (also use lager yeast).

Thats the info from their Website.
It only in german so thats all the info I could get out of it.
Let me know how you go.

I am lucky and got two bottles of their Edelpils sitting here that I got in a packet from a friend last week. Cant wait to crack it.
Their beers are absolutly upper class in Germany. The average price per crate is around 24 Dollar whereas for Kneitinger you are looking at 30-35 Dollar. But definitly worth it.

Hmm I just saw that its 5.2% for the Edelpils on the bottle. But 5.5 on their website. I reckon the 5.2 would be correct.

HI Unterberg, cheers for the guidance.

I think this is one I should try to get a sample then try to clone.

Ask your mate about the Bock. If he ever had it I am sure he will only recommend it.
I am not sure if you can get it here in Australia :(
