So I've fairly recently taken up a new hobby, and that's kitesurfing.
For those who dont know what it is, you basically fly a big kite ranging from 6 - 17 meters in area depending on the wind speed. The stronger the wind, the smaller kite you need, and you have it pull you along the water while you ride a board. You can go in relatively flat waters like bays and lakes or out in the open ocean and deal with big waves. You can do massive jumps and tricks like wakeboarders do, or you can just plod along going from A to B yelling "Woohooo" and still have the time of your life.
A little bit like this:
I for one, am getting right into the sport, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone between the ages of 16 and 70 who love action water sports... This is the kite I own and use every weekend: & .
I used to be into surfing (well, still am), but this is just a whole new level of awesome that blows surfing out of the water in my opinion. Rather than spending 95% of your time bobbing around behind the breakers waiting for that wave, you spend 95% of your time on the board having a ball!
So im wondering, are there any AHB'ers into it as well as me?
