Howdy y'all,

I was wondering if anyone using kit yeasts have experienced stuck fermentation when fermenting at 20°c? (which is below kit instructions)

My current situation is I have 2 brews in my fermenting fridge controlled by an stc-1000 set to 20°c, 1 being a tyne side brown ale pitched with kit yeast. The other being a coopers australian pale ale pitched with kit yeast. They have been fermenting for 10 days and have both stalled at 1.022
Both had SG 1.048

I have increased the temp to 23°c so we will see how things go over the next few days

If there is no surface activity, you may need to re suspend the yeast.

Sanitise a big old spoon and stir the yeast up from the bottom.

Use a better yeast in future. They are cheap, you get multiple uses out of a pack and you have a better indication of viability with the dates in the packs.

Till now kit yeasts have never had any problems for me, I will go with the better yeasts in future though
