To All, Matt @ C&C Here:
-Noticed some talk about loose or detached rubber on the kegs; here is the best fix.
-Go to an AUTOMOTIVE GLASS REPAIR shop. The new auto windshields are held in place by "super glue".* This glue/epoxy/or whatever it is has a tear strength in excess of 14,000 pounds (6,360Kilos).
-With a CLEAN BOTTOM & RUBBER SURFACE, have them lay a bead of the stuff IN A "C" SHAPE one inch from the top of the rubber and another lower down in the "cup" of the rubber.
-DO NOT MAKE A FULL CIRCLE WITH THE GLUE. You need the open part of the "C" to let air out when you press the rubber onto the keg.
-KEEP WEIGHT ON THE RUBBER FOR 24 HOURS TO FULLY CURE. You can do this by taking the keg to the auto glass shop already filled with water.
-With that glue (3M makes it, as do others, I imagine), the Rubber will tear before the glue ever lets go!
BREW-ON
Matt
PS: DON'T get the glue on your hands if the glue is black in color. Your skin will have to shed natually for the black to come off your hands! (yep, learned that hard way!)
*: Remember when auto windshields were held in place by rubber gaskets? Not anymore, All held in place with Glue! Geez! And the average price of a new car in the U.S. is now $29,000USD !!!! OUCH!
