Hi Brewers,
I'm having a brew day this saturday commencing with milling the grain at 9:30am, I've got some K&K guys coming and a few old hands but due to a lack of usable space have room for just a few more. I anticipate the day finishing no later than 4pm or so. It would be great to get a few more guy's or gals interested in seeing how AG works. The beer will be a Galaxy Blonde Ale and the brew will be no-chill into the fermenter. A non-vegetarian lunch will be served.

cheers

I'm in BD but I have a bit storm damage to rectify at my Mum's place so I prolly won't get there till after lunch.

See ya Thursday night BABBS.

A great day was had by all, thanks to Bretto77, Bonj, The Scientist and his mate for top morning and afternoons brewing, drinking and chatting and educating the K&K boys about AG.

I'm pissed that I wasn't able to make it down BD, it would have been great to see a top Brewer as yourself in action, along with shooting the ***** with fellow brewers as well... please tell me you will have another that I'm able to attend once this place is sold and I have a not so up-in-the-air schedule. So will we get to sample the Galaxy Blonde at BABBS next month (hint hint)???

Cheers

BD I'm so sorry for missing your brew day mate! :( I nagged and nagged ya too FFS!
I was so looking forward to seeing the master in action but unfortunately Mum's place was worse than expected plus I became a very senior brother this morning to a beautiful 4 pound 4 ounces baby girl who graced us 8 weeks premmy (so please raise a glass lads and wish us well that it all turns out ok, appreciated in advanced). Anyway sorry again I would have loved to catch all you guys and explain how a true professional does it.

@Bonj your shirt is still at CB's mate but can still pick up if needed next week. Let me know?

Cheers

Nice one BD, Ill look forward to that at the next meeting.... Mmmm Galaxy :D

And I believe that is beer in Bonjs glass :p

Sounds like you had a great brewday Tony. :super:
If you don't mind my asking, what micron size hop bag are you straining that wort with and did you use pellets?
I have the 250 micron & am interested in the performance of the 500 micron (If that's what you've got?) for straining purposes.

Of course there will be galaxy blond at the next BABBs, better bring a couple of bottles. You blokes that missed out, never mind, there will always be another down the track. Compared to the last brew day this was a very casual layed back affair, no bagpipes at 8pm. Pete, I've no idea what the micron size is mate, all I can tell you is that I bought it when Ross first stocked them so he might be able to tell you. I can tell you it is pretty good for filtering the hop and break material.

cheers

Thanks Tony. It sounds like the 250 micron which is just the same as mine. After whirlpooling mine filters well until the last few litres when the pickup tube starts to siphon off the trub & it needs a bit of a jiggle to reach my required volume. I just dump the remainder into a 5 litre jug to settle out & to be used for the next starter.
