Well, a while ago i purchased one of those Thomas Coopers Selection Pilsner kits by mistake and it's been sitting here for a while, so a couple weeks ago i just thought i'd have a bit of fun with it and use up some older hops etc....
Now keep in mind that i just took a stab in the dark here. I don't understand IBUs and i couldn't get my head around that spreadsheet calculator thing... I'm more of an experiment kinda guy anyway - seems more fun!
What i ended up doing was:
20g Pride of Ringwood @45 min
20g Saaz @10 min
5g Chinook @10min
17g (was shooting for 20 but that was all i had left) Saaz @0min
500g Dextrose
250g Honey
Left it for 7 days and tasted, wasn't stoked on the flavour. Some crazy Saaziness happening.
So i decided to rack it to secondary and added 10g Chinook to it.
Bottled it 7 days later and it tasted quite like a Blanch De Namur!

SG was 1.003 @18˚
We shall see how it is in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted!
