Gooday folks

I just picked up my new 100 litre S/S Fermenter. Photo attached below, the racking arm and valves are all soaking in PBW. I hope to christen it later this week with a nice simple ale.

what size batches are you doing in it? Massive headspace if its only a standard batch.

Headspace should not be a problem if it is ales. There are places that deliberately ferment their beers in very wide, shallow vessels with a lot of head space. Ale yeasts attenuate better with a shallow fermentation. (or so i have read) I will try to find the link and post it.

I intend doing 65 ltre and the ocassional 80 ltre batches.

its funny the angle of the pic makes it look like its only got two legs. Deffy gravity will you *shakes fist*

but seriously, it looks great until I'm living in a bigger place ill have to settle for a plastic carboy
