Hi all,

I took some sg readings today after brewing.

28 deg.....1046, so went to brewmate adjusted for temp calibration, tells me will be 1049 at 20 deg, then went out to clean up all the gear. Came back an hour or so later, and tested again.

26 deg......1046, .....had a shower, half hour later

23 deg......1046....moved it to air conditioned room,

20 deg....1046.......

Hydrometer reads 1000 at 20 deg with water

Why is this so?

if your hydro is calibrated for 20deg, 1.046 @ 28deg will read 1.048

1.0474 @ 26deg
1.0467 @ 24deg
1.046 @ 20deg (obviously)

My guess is that you read the first one wrong?

I'm pretty sure I read it correctly as I was aiming for 1048 so had a few goes at reading it.

Cheers
