Hi Tas,
Kettle looks good. I would recommend against a sight glass in the kettle. It is hard to sanitise and COULD lead to infections later on. Probably the worst feature of polycarbonate sight tubes is if you accidently hit them with something, hot wort/water will spurt everywhere.
I have a similar sight glass on my HLT but it really is of no use and a possible danger.

cheers

Darren

WHAT the <_< your joking right? ?

Edit: I am calm now, and cut out the abuse. Deap Breath....

Why must people react so angrily when someone has the temerity to post a different opinion?

I agree with the infection thing but i can't imagine my hlt polycarbonate sight glass breaking. This stuff is seriously strong I think you would need a huge amount of force to break it and would probably bend the fitting before you damaged the tube. they use polycarb for bullet proof windows and the like

Who was angry? Not me, I was laughing so hard after that post from Darren I posted it as a joke.
Oh dear, time to pitch that large starter in the fresh wort and make beer not jokes. B)

Some paint stripper might be your friend Chris ;)

That coloured band is very distinctive.
