Hey guys,

I ordered some hops the other day, and realised they are from the 08 harvest...

I looked at another store later which had 2009 hops available for a bit cheaper.

Is the year of vast importance?

Cheers,

MLP.

'08, that was a good year...

Ok, trying to be of some assistance. I beleive hops lose their hoppiness over time no matter how they are stored. There are calculations to work out how much AA% they have lost based on time. I have to admit I haven't looked into it myself.
As far as the '09 being cheaper than '08, that seems a bit odd since generally the fresher the better.

Thanks guys,

That link above is great!

The reason the 09 hops werre cheaper is because they are from a new retailer, and I guess just trying to get new customers...i'll know for next time who to order from :p

(Brewz2you.com.au were the cheaper source with 100g of Amerillo for about $12.50 as opposed to $13.50 and higher at most other WA retailers)
