>>>> Was thinking Perle and Tettnanger... <<<<

Sounds good as I do not have them yet.
I will be keen for more swaps :D
Mine arrived last night so in the fridge for 2 - 3 months and then it's planting time.

Just received an email from Grumpy's with instructions attached. Gotta be happy with that.

Quick question; How well do they grow in SE Qld? It's a little late as I have two arriving[thanks Batz] what I know about the garden you can write on the back of a postage stamp with a texta :p and still have room, all I know is when you plant something it's green side up.
These instructions will have to be good, make that basic.

And another email from Thomas at Grumpy's.

Grumpy Thomas points out that although the Tax Invoice details below:

Order Items
Qty Name
Price Total
1 Perle $37.50 $37.50

SubTotal: $37.50
Shipping: $15.00
Total: $52.50
All prices quoted include GST

states a total of $52.50 they only charged me $37.50. A quick check of my bank statement shows this to be correct.

My sincere apologies to Grumpy's for quoting the amount of $52.50 in my previous post. The transaction was processed by Grumpy's on May 17th. I still have not received a receipt and was going by the amount on the Tax Invoice which I accessed on the Grumpy's website.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thomas

And Good Luck to you too Thomas

Still, Its $13.50 more than mine cost delivered to my door.

I'll be happy to see cones like this at our location
They still doing well Andrew

Bindi,

Plant them where that roma tomato bush of your is located. Bearing fruit in June, has to be a good sunny location.

Thanks Screwtop for the advice, but I will have to get the Mrs to plant them as the tomatoes were planted by her, not me as I know 'diddly squat' about plants. <_< And my two plants arrived today :) with instructions.

Received mine today thanks Batz, duck fupped and ordered Perle, same as I had ordered from Grumpy's so if someone wants a Perle and has a spare Wurtemberger or something to swap let me know, we can swap before planting time.

Bugger would have kept it if I knew that

Has anyone else in WA ordered from Stew from Tassie? Am getting a little worried that the Quarantine guys may have intercepted it. I should have checked first to see if there was a restriction on importing them into WA :(

I got mine. First time with hops plants. But I though (maybe I wrong) that rhizones were woody and would have a bit of stem to stick out of the ground, mine are straight roots? Is this normal; also would it be ok to plat hem now in Qld?

Well my Chinook & Mt.Hood showed up today, sent the money on the w/end so very fast delivery. Perhaps quarantine missied mine :D

So do i plant or put em in the fridge for a but ? Time for some research.

Bindi, get Pete to bring his knife and fork so he can give a lawn clipping demo. Spoke to Stuart who suggested leaving rhizomes until the last week in July to plant here on the Sunny Coast.

You should have Maree do a belly dance at midnight on the full moon while you plant your rhizomes.

Also as they are not from mainland Australia they should have the Yadaki played to welcome them to the mainland before planting.

This should all bode well for an excellent crop.

The rhizomes need to be planted underground fully. Not too deep but they're a root system so exposure won't do them much good. If there are already buds that are growing a particular direction them plant them with the buds facing up, otherwise just whack them in. Don't treat them with too much respect but keep them watered, though not too much, and avoid fertilisers high in nitrogen fertiliser. A side (as in not a heap dumped on top  ) dressing of poop of some description will do them wonders.

I received mine from Stewart from Tassie on Friday as planned. Look to be in very good condition and have some mean looking buds on them already.
