I know I know... i should be punished with a large wort paddle... jeeze.. getting ideas now... hahaha

LOL!!!! That's why my partner and I beleive in chilling our wort!

Me too.

Have you brewed a english ale before jsaw? hens tooth is as expected, ale malt, crystal malt, challenger and goldings hops, just like many english ales.

best kit would be the muntons gold range if your willing to spend 50 bucks

What Jayse said!
Can't believe those Muntons are $50 now?
Used to pay $30\$31 in my K&K days but have to admit they were the best kits I ever tasted.

TP

Hey dont flame him for that, I used to be like that too. It comes with the ability of being able to make alcohol and thinking, "I wonder what I can get away with?"

Itll pass, it did for me, all my K&K lagers used to be 6-7% crazy! But then I tasted an ordinary bitter, and realised that I really really LOVE drinking beer, and if I can consume more of it then that makes me happy, rather thank drinking less higher alcohol brews...

Fair enough and suppose at least it was about Hens Tooth which is a promising sign. It's just when I read a post of pumping a beer to 10% plus on caster sugar (Not this post BTW) that I think to myself what the f#ck for? In a bigger beer yes but a coopers kit? Why? But hey I was crazy once too back when Jesus was a boy.

Plenty of good advice in here, always is, I do realise its not possible to clone the exact beer your after, but if you can get close to it, your laughing.
I must admit, i have only done 15 brews so far in the last 2 1/2 months, and naturally still reaching out and trying new hops and malts etc.
Grains wont be far away!

Don't mind me J1G I'm just a grumpy gimp. You do what you want and keep asking questions. FFS brewing 9/10th experimentation to begin with right?

BTW 15 brews in 2.5 months! FARKING HELL! That's 450 tallies! Are ya sure about that?

Does AA have a forum?

Yeah I agree with you.... but then Chappo is still in that same cycle of just becoming a AG'er and slacking of the K&Kr....

Katie hides behind her keyboard!

Don't know about that Katie but I'll take it on board for future reference... :icon_cheers:

Yeah i know! have a heap of booze resting at the moment.. run out of boxes to store them in! The majority of them are 6%+++
Sorry liver

:icon_offtopic: Funny how you have a little stash of negelected k&K whoopsie sitting in the corner all by themselves like little leppers. Every so often you crack one and you go eeepp! :icon_vomit: Wrong one! That's that bloody so and so that nearly killed me last time!

(whisper_icon) but you never give 'em to the sewer god just in case they might come good...

I suppose i should mention that i am a big cyclops at 6"3 and 300lb, size 17 feet.. usual story.. might explain why i need 400 tallies to keep me going.. lol

:icon_offtopic: so true... we empty them when we need bottles, I think we have 4 cartons to go... we have done that so many times as our shed is in a mess at the moment and we have very little all grain left. It was only the other night when my partner did not understand what fridge I was talking about (we were searching for all grain like dogs do bones) anyway Lloydie poured the beer and it was a dark one.... the last dark beer we brewed was a K&K anyhow it poured very well and really really dark and we did not remember it like that at all. Then he tasted it and said WOW what a fantastic beer that has turned into.... very confused then realized he had gone to the wrong fridge and it was one of Pistol Patchs beers he had left! BUMMER! gosh Im talkative day must be Friday...

Hey chappo, Im based in Warwick at the moment, but the mrs owns a unit in Yeronga, which wouldnt be too far from you.
One of these days when im in Bris next, i wouldnt mind teeing up a time to chew your ears (over a few brews of course!)
So as to gain some more knowledge. Plus then i can bring some of my own creations for you to sample etc, and give me feedback.
As i have stated, most of them are strong beers, so i can bring the spit bucket if need be! lol.

No worries J1G PM me when your around Brissy next. I would be glad to blow off a few frothies with ya on the back verandah! :icon_cheers:

Leave ya spit bucket at home I'm sure it's all good! Besides licking the dogs date will get of any harsh after taste. Maybe bring your "lites" huh?

I would bring a selection like..

Irish stout 4 & 8% versions
Elephant Beer - 7%
Belgian strong ale 8%
Toucan Wheat 8%
Corona clone 5%
Caffery's clone 4.5%

No doubt a small glass required to try all! lol.
