Just finished fermenting a Brewcraft Boages copy with Saflager S-23 at 12deg for 7 days.
I want to rack this today, but, does it need a rest at room temp beforehand? If so, for how long?
Tis my first lager. Will CC for 2 or 3 weeks at, what, 2deg(?)
Any help appreciated

Dave

Havn't done many lagers, but i don't think it will matter if you diacetyl rest before or after racking. I think its 1-2 days at room temp. CC for as long as possible/want as close to freezing as possible. 2c should be spot on.

make sure its fermented out as lagers take longer to ferment take gravity readings with your hydro then around the last do or to of fermentation then do a diacytal rest

Have look orsearch on lager.
Allow to ferment to 2/3 of gravity rack and allow to ferment out to 2 point qabove final Gravity then CC
Primary 10-14 days\
secondary 7-10
lager for 4 weeks
