Hi 9finger & welcome.
A few words of caution:
1. (& this is a BIGGIE!) There's a favourite Aussie passtime/sport called "Bagging", which involves throwing gentle insults & making jokes at the expense of each other. When this happens to you (& it will around here!), you're expected to give it back in spades. As long as it's not nasty & personal, anything/anyone is fair game. It's perfectly harmless, so don't take anything personally. It's just the Aussie sense of humour.
2. Aussies tend to talk in Celcius, Kg. & Litres, so you'll need to be prepared to do lot's of conversions, or just do what the rest of the "normal" world does & think in metric to get the best out of this site.
3. We use "U" in spelling things like humour, colour etc.
4. Points 2 & 3 above contain examples of point 1
