Storing my longnecks in the shed, on the hottest 43 degree day we've had so far it was warm when I walked in there not dehydratingly sweaty hot but rather warm. Bottle still felt cool when pressed against my cheek, and I've had no bottle bombs since I started brewing over the last two months.

Is this temp okay to store my brews in?

And I know I should cold condition but dont have the resources to ATM.

Cheers in advance.

I do the same as i have not got all the bells and whistles either but one thing i do in the shed or garage is i put all my brews in thoughs foam esky's from the fruit and veg shop (broccilli boxes) and just put them in the cool corner and cover with a blanket .
they dont then over heat and still condition ok .

delboy

I generally have 6 or 7 brews on hand, each of about 30 longnecks. No brew is younger than 3 months when I drink it. I store them in plastic boxes in a dark corner of the shed. I've never had an explosion, but a couple of brews have tasted "yeasty" for no apparent reason. . Whether that's due to the heat or some batch fault, I dunno...

2c worth.

I have tons of milk crates and easy access to many more, maybe if I store them in them with say old sheets over them? Would that keep the temp down does anyone think?

High temperature is not a friend to beer. You may not have a problem but there is more of a likely hood that you could. It would be preferable to store your bottles in a cooler area with a more constant temp. Under the house? etc But either you can or you cant.

I dont think high temp would make your beer explode it is more about too much fermentable suger left in your bottles that would make them explode. I may be wrong about that...

The only bottle bombs I've had go off due to high temperature have been semi-commercial: Hanseens Kriek and Gueuze.

Yeah I live in a unit, so I dont have many options unfortunately.....

And kegging unfortunately $$$ will not permit for quite a while yet friends.
