Hey guys, just trying to find out what the beer scene is like over in Hawaii. My girlfriend and myself will be heading over that way just after NYE and I was hoping to get a hold of some of the American beers that we see photos of or only hear about.
I've been searching the net but the only place I can come up with is the Kona Brewpub.
Is there anywhere good to get a beer or a good bottleshop with a reasonable selection over there???

A friend brought some Maui Brewing beers for me in cans...

YUM

Coconut Porter and Big Swell IPA - both great. Bikini blonde lager nothing special. I think you can pick these up pretty much anywhere in Hawaii.

No info though on brewpubs etc.

I spent an afternoon at the Kona Brewing Co. in (suprose suprise) Kona on the big island. Great little set-up, and a fantastic pub set up with some great food and great beers.

I haven't managed to visit Maui Brewing as yet, but it's definitely on the itinery for my next trip over the pond...
