Put them under the fridge or wherever they hide, just make sure kids and pets can't get to them.

There must be other methods as well

Not overly keen on just using chemicals...

I know you aren't big on the chemicals, but chemicals do work. With insects in general I take a hard line of 'come in my house and you die'. When I lived in Sydney we had a shiteload of cockroaches but after about 6 months of nuking everyone that came inside we came to an understanding.

Dont worry, chemicals have there place, and I am not one of these " think of the poor cockroaches"... fuckem..

But interested in looking at alternative's...

Mint solution in a spray bottle - does wonders for a few of the annoying feckers, cockies included.

So mint oil, about a tea spoon in a litre of water. Spray where needed.

If you can collect them up, make a suit out of them for your self in case of a nuclear war.

But yeah, mint spray is my hot tip.

hope it helps.

If they're the big fly in ones, flyscreens are your best friend. If they're the normal household variety, plug up all cracks and crevices and do a big spring clean of the whole house. Remember for every one you see there's about 500 of it's brothers and sisters you don't. Gecko's are also great little cocky hunters and fun to have around the house.

Flip-flops are an absolutly brilliant weapon :) but can be a little messy

If your every in prison and allowed to breed birds you can belt them with one of your boots and blend them up in your tin mug and feed them to any little orphans or runts that need a helping hand.

Catch and fry! They're pretty fast though.

Or get the pest man and just force yourself to believe that all the stories he tells you about the chemicals being 100% kid friendly are actually true.

Always love the next morning when you find dozens and dozens of dead cockroaches about 10cm away from the skirting boards. Whatever they spray kills them pretty fast, there are never any in the middle of a room.

I wonder if one of those electric zapper things would work? You know the ones you get for fly’s and mozzies but bait them instead of using a light to attract them.

I mix up pyrethrum extract in a spray bottle with a few drop of detergent. Kills any bug you want. Unfortunately it doesnt stop the buggers breeding.

A word of warning regarding Cockroach bombs....

There has been many a Restaurant blown up by the owner trying to save money using aerosol cockroach bombs.
The type that you set off and leave the premises are extremely dangerous if used around any naked flame. Eg, a pilot light in a gas heater etc or even a fault in an electrical appliance that may cause a spark.

Off on a bit of a tangent....I am amazed that the OP on this very forum bangs on and on about electrical work only being done by LICENCED operators then comes on here wanting advice about pest management procedures which again, is a field whereby a LICENCE is required to carry out such work.

You want the job done properly and safely then HIRE a LICENCED PROFESSIONAL.
