just go to the big green shed and buy whatever they sell, you'll be right who knows what the **** some of the chemicals in them are or do

i'm sure those companies have your well being in mind and not doing it for profit

what type of cockies do you have a problem with as dif. ones require dif. treatments

A word of warning regarding Cockroach bombs....

There has been many a Restaurant blown up by the owner trying to save money using aerosol cockroach bombs.
The type that you set off and leave the premises are extremely dangerous if used around any naked flame. Eg, a pilot light in a gas heater etc or even a fault in an electrical appliance that may cause a spark.

Off on a bit of a tangent....I am amazed that the OP on this very forum bangs on and on about electrical work only being done by LICENCED operators then comes on here wanting advice about pest management procedures which again, is a field whereby a LICENCE is required to carry out such work.

You want the job done properly and safely then HIRE a LICENCED PROFESSIONAL.
So much anger Dicko....

DId I mention anything about using dangerous chemicals that need to be applied by licensed applicators.....No I didnt...

This works and it's chemical free! ImageUploadedByAussie Home Brewer1444941662.955615.jpg

Large jar - preferably with lid.
Ramp leading to the throat (optional)
Tasty, sugary, sweets in the bottom.
A good swipe of vaseline around the inside lip so they cant crawl back out.

Then when you have collected a sufficient number, kill them.
With highly toxic chemicals.

Thats a top idea

And you dont need to be licensed to set it up... B) .

A simple 4 hour induction will be quite sufficient.

Ice cream container banana and beer in bottom smear butter around top edge on inside same as the jar trap idea. I remember this from when i was a kid the parents had them under the house.

Only if you've completed the certificate VII pin fixing course. Otherwise you'll be issued with the Blu-Tac compatible version.

Might need hazardous substance training course for Blu-Tac...will need gloves.... never can be to careful

Put them under the fridge or wherever they hide, just make sure kids and pets can't get to them.
I have tried these and the Control Bombs even had a Robocan one of those things that sends out a little puff of pyrethrin spray ever five minutes all totally useless never seen a dead cockroach laying around. Maybe the little buggers wear breathing apparatus. The knockdown spray works quite well but takes a long time usually find the corpse next morning.

Nothing worse than getting up in the middle of the night for a pee to find a bloody big one on the bathroom floor waving it's antennas at you. Biggest shock I got was brushing my teeth and a biggy suddenly popped up out of the sink plug hole. Put bleach and toilet cleaner down the drain but few months later there were more.. :angry2:

Borax and icing sugar.
They can't get enough of it.

In all states in Australia it is actually a licence not a certificate and it is issued by the relevent state health body only after qualifying with written and practical results.

I bet if it is german cockroaches that you have in your home they will breed faster than you will ever trap and kill them.

The pest control industry is a bit like the electrical trades industry.....
You can go to Bunnings and buy chemical or you can go to Bunnings and buy a power point.
If both are used correctly then no problem if either is used incorrectly then death may result.
In the case of the home pest manager it is also important how the chemical is stored and or disposed of as well and this is an area that can cause great concern if not handled in the appropriate manner. This is very important if you have children.

I meant no anger in my original post Stu, the capitals are used to highlite my points as I am on an I Pad and this board does not have any highlite or underline functions in IOS. I can only type as the board will allow.

Good luck with the cockroach traps,

Hey Dbs, as Dicko said if they are German cockroaches they'll be trouble, they'll blitzkrieg your house and then you'll be fcuked.

Got SFA to do with that.

Cockroaches? I just say remind them of that record breaking "One in a row" streak they were on and they generally shut up and slink off somewhere out of the way.
