English Fuggle
A chance seedling raised in England at about the turn of the century.
Characteristics
Aroma: Mild, pleasant, hoppy
Storageability: 70 - 80% of alpha acids remaining after six (6) months @ 20� C.
Acid Composition
Alpha Acid: 3.0 - 5.6% w/w
Beta Acids: 2.0 - 3.0% w/w
Co-Humulone: 23 - 30% of alpha acids
Oil Composition
Total Oil: 0.7 - 1.4 mls/100 grams
Myrcene: 24 - 28% of whole oil
Humulene: 35 - 40% of whole oil
Caryophyllene: 11 - 13% of whole oil
Farnesene: 5 - 7% of whole oil
General Trade Perception
A hop long associated with typical English Ale brewing. Imparts good hoppy late-hop flavor
It carries a high carryophyllene oilas well as farnesene oil content. This combination brings a herbal and woody type of aroma.
Other Information
Once the predominant hop in England but now reserved for aroma use in conjunction with high alpha types.
