My wife and I are in long distance relationship for quite some time. I want to make a beer for her. I was thinking of making a blonde ale (she's blonde) with some french ingredients (she's french) and i want to incorporate some victoria's secret hops in there as well ( :) ).

Most importantly, she has to like the beer as well. She loves lighter type beers like fat yak, stone and wood and little creatures. She does like the more hoppy american ales as well as long as the bitterness is balanced with lots of malt.

Any suggestions?

Belgian base malt (cos they speak french in Belgium), strisselspalt, french saison yeast, late Vic secret hops?

Not 100% sure how saison would wqork with vic secret but lemon citrus hops work well so maybe the loquat you get from vic would work. Hoppy saisons work for sure.

I have a Vic Secret Saison carbing up now. Tasted pretty good out of the fermenter.

Mmmm… Victoria's Secret (be it hops... or the other variety).

I think Manticle's on to something. Maybe a good dollop of rye in the saison to go with the fruitiness of the Vic Secret? Pils and rye malt bill?

What's the difference between a French Kiss and an Australian Kiss?
We do it down under...

Well, I can say my Saison is one of the best beers I've made so far, delicious and dangerous at 6.4%
