Ha, tell me about it. I'm still basking in admiration of myself that I've resisted this one item... so far :p

The cheapest that I've found Schott (Duran) flasks is here, still haven't pulled the trigger myself yet though - must. resist. spending...

I can get them from the importer , I could sell them heaps cheaper than this but I would probably have to order
at least 6 as importers don't like bringing in just 1. Also, the brand droid bought would have been a cheaper
Chinese made version , not German made. If there are a couple of people after big conical flasks (ie 1L , 2L
3L or 5L ) let me know. The postage would also be extra especially interstate. Most lab items I can get
eg sterile centrifuge tubes for agar slants , stains, scientific scales etc..

^that's a bit dissapointing, though it states they can be put on a flame and then put into a freezer and after looking at the stats they are manufactured to the same standard which is ISO 1773, maybe not bounce worthy but if it shares the same standard that's cool

Hey Roosterboy, if you're taking EOIs I'd be keen on one each of 1L, 3L, 5L, - pending pricing. There's four options in each or most sizes I believe (maybe not every size) - combinations of either narrow or wide neck and normal or heavy duty. Of those I'd prefer wide/heavy duty but I think the cost is likely prohibitive for that spec even if you can get significant discounts. I wouldn't rule out other specs though.

I would have to order them in and I would allow 6 weeks for that. There are minimum buys for 800mL, 1000mL
and 2000mL of 10 units . If we could get more interest it would be good. I can get rubber/silicon stoppers also
with or without drilled hole(s) for the conical flasks.

Sounds good Mr Rooster, I'd jump in for a 3lt

As there are minimum order quantities for 1 L and 2 L flasks and I don't want to go to another company.
I'm thinking of just doing the 3 L and 5 L flasks. They would be
3000 mL DURAN Schott Erlenmeyer conical flask $ 78.00 + postage
5000 mL = $125.00 + postage

Sounds good Roosterboy, I assume those prices are for the narrow-neck standard duty versions? Whereabouts would you be posting from?

Thanks

The price is for the narrow neck, that's what I use mainly because the OCD side of me says smaller neck equals
smaller chance of contamination and the silicone stoppers may fit a bit better. But I don't care , what ever people
want. I'll just have to check the price on the wide neck.
I' m on the southcoast NSW, but I've found a pretty good freight method, heaps better than Aust post.
I can post to most places for $25 or less.

I have both narrow and wide neck flasks.

I tend to prefer the wide neck as both during boiling starter wort to sanitise, and during yeast propogation, the 'stuff' doesnt tend to climb as fast or high as in a narrow neck flask.

OK how about this, I looked into the price for the wide neck DURAN Schott Erlenmeyer flasks and it's a significant
increase in price which I don't think people will want and even more expensive if yo go to the super heavy duty range.
However there is another company I can get SIMAX European (Czech Republic, well known company) made
Erlenmeyer Wide neck flasks with no minimum buy (but I would want a couple for the extra shipping cost ) .
1000mL SIMAX Wide neck = $ 16.00 each . 2000mL SIMAX Wide neck = $ 46.00 each
3000mL DURAN Narrow neck = $ 76.00 each 5000mL DURAN Narrow neck = $ 125 each

There are cheaper flasks out there but they're not the same quality. You get what you pay for.

Can I get some firm numbers
Meddo 1 L, 2L, 3L
Mardoo 3L, 5L
JB 3L
Mofox1 5L
Is this correct ??

Sorry to be a pain Rooster, but take me off the list. Just have a few too many things in flight atm. Cheers
