First Full Size Biab Ag

So after a couple of partials using NickJD's stovetop method, I finally smashed out a full AG brew on the weekend! Everything went perfectly. Missed my target gravity by 1 point, 68% utilisation, didn't even lose 1 degree during the mash. My rough "pulley" system worked a treat. Everything seriously went better than I had expected!!

For anyone considering trying AG - DO IT!!!!

Some other firsts during this brew - first whirfloc, first cube/no chill, first brewing outdoors during a massive storm!!

I really think your brew is destined to fail though. That scarf you have used to wrap around your mash should have been purple, mate It may impart some off flavours!

Good one - I note the Crown urn. Is that a Gryphon bag? For about $6 at the hardware you can get a galvanised awning pulley although you need a thicker cord with it to stop it jumping out of the track and jamming. :icon_cheers:

Yep Crown urn, and Gryphon bag. I originally modified my urn, then read about people's modified urns dying and un-modified it.... then I modified it again.

I looked at a pulley but figured I could get away without one - just pulling the rope through a hook - and it worked a treat! Really easy.
