G'day guys I'm excited!!! Friday I'm buying my first BIAB setup and going all grain!!!! Getting the setup complete from my LHBS and they're designing a simple IPA recipe for me! I'm busting! Can't wait to report back with the recipe and how I go

Good stuff mate. You wont look back. I've only been doing BIAB since mid last year, but love it - the beer is just way more enjoyable

nice work! good luck with the IPA. don't be worried if you don't hit all your figures first off. getting a big IPA spot on takes a bit of time - i'd normally start on a lesser gravity pale ale but good for you! you won't look back. just make sure to record all your losses and figures so you can get an idea on them to predict for future batches :)

Cheers to everyone! I will definitely let you all know how I go!

yeah good luck mate. Lesson from my first couple (maxiBIAB);
  1. If you need a bucket/ spare pot to sparge, make sure it is big enough, otherwise you will be cleaning up an extra 10 mins!
  2. 90 minute mash is > 60
  3. If you decide to cover the boil even for a minute to help sanitise the lid with steam, do not turn your back for 1 minute, otherwise you will be cleaning up an extra 10 mins
  4. Grains soak up more than you think so try and measure volumes and stuff as mentioned above!
