Hey fellas,

Wanting to make a "lager", but my gear wont allow me to do it right, any suggestions for a faux lager fermenting at ale temps? I can manage about 16 degrees in best circumstances, but.18 I'd a good average.

Wey pils, thinking saaz bitter add, mash lower at 64, 63, get dry, can I get lagerish? Should I mash lower?

What's best I can do?

You will get decent results with S-189 at 16-18c.
The kolsch yeast works but will be a little fruitier than you might be after.

Thanks guys, that sounds like the go. I guess fruitiness will not be horrible if it comes out.

Liking the look of these recipes. The simple Saaz blonde looks good. A mate wants to try his hand at HBrewing, and wants a basic euro lager. Immediately thought Pils and Saaz. Cant go wrong. Didnt think it was cool enough at 16 to go a lager yeast, but it looks like i'll be right.

Thanks for the advice.
