Euro Beer Poll

I feel like some crisp Euro beer while mine is lagering.

I just noticed that Vintage Cellars have Frstenberg Lager & Knig Pils for $40 a carton.

But which one truly rocks? :super:

Definitely the Konig. SWMBO got me a carton from Safeway for $39 a few months back. Good bang for buck Pilsner with some nice flowery hop aroma. :beerbang: There's better continental Pilsners about but not for that price.

They are both fairly good. I had a konig the other day next to the pool and wasnt objecting. I would lean towards the koing personaly.

Konig tastes just like bitburger to me (which I like) not sure if I have tried the other, probably have though.

as slugger suggests i found it similar to bitburger and the likes.

i dont rate either. both are bland and boring but of the two konig is a little better.

Both are fine beers, I voted for Konig at $40 a case you can't complain about either, much better than the local mega swills available.

But if you are after the best go for the Pilsner Urquell which was on special over Chrissy for just over $50.

I actually had to stop at the bottleshop on the way home yesterday (for Grandma ) and bought one of each and a JS Golden Ale. Drank them all last night, and whilst neither were a standout, I enjoyed the aroma from the Frstenberg Lager more.

I must have got a bad batch of konig cos when I had it tasted like utter ****. got a whole carton and gave most of it away. tasted strongly of cluster hops for mine. I thought the flavour was really overpowering and disgusting, like a super xxxx bitter.

I know, one can not argue about taste.

but.....

I am, as a dedicated Pils-drinker, surrounded by all that megaswill Pilsener you mentioned, wouldnt buy neither Frstenberg nor Knigs Pilsener.
Id prefer Bitburger if I had to buy my beer.

And I noticed Cintra Pilsener is still $28 a slab from that bottlo on Victoria Rd, Gladesville. I'll be happy with that.
