Hi All,

I'm lining up a dubbel, so last night I cooked up some sugar into a nice deep caramel. In order to balance the amount of coloured malt, I'd like to estimate its colour in EBC. Any hints on how to do this?

Perhaps measure it against a color scale like beer judges use T. I found this page that has color for candi sugar, I was surpirised at how dark they can be.http://www.beerbelly.com.au/candisyrupspecs.html
:D

I think it's the colour of a 10% W/V solution, put about 1 cm in a glass and check it against a standard colour scale, should get you fairly close.

Good Link.
