Give it bit longer, I suspect that you have Rainbow Trout breeding in your tanks, these specicies are notorious for, at certain times the breeding cycle exuding powerfull chemiclas into the water that will have the effect of leaching calcium out of everything ito touces, now in a fast flowing stream, or even a dam this is not a problem but in an enclosed tank..I think you have found the answer, drop a line in and harvest some !!
