Won't posting here drive up the prices for potential buyers?

Anyway I guess it might help some of the sellers so all the hippy love goes somewhere.

Hop Rhizomes (chinook) for 0.99c + $10 maximum postage from NSW
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CHINOOK-Hops-Rhizom...%3A1%7C294%3A50

Same guy also has mount hood for 0.99 (cheaper postage for some reason), postage deals for multiple buys and other varieties of rhizome available. No affiliation - just browsing.
I think you'll find that the end-prices on those auctions will be quite a bit higher, I've seen some go for as much as $70 ea.

Dammit manticle! I was the only bidder at 99c before you posted with only hours left to go, now it's up over $30 <_<

Oh well, maybe next time...
If you do that to me again, I'll make you taste one of my kit beers

Sadly extortion bay rhizome prices have a long history of going loco. I watch them all the time from days out. When they get to the last couple of days then hours - kaboom! Rhizome madness takes hold.

Hopefully the craziness this year will be more subdued. Nothing as stupid as watching some sucker buy a cascade rhizome for over $120 like I saw last year. That was beyond madness...that was insanity!

Hopper.

I'll buy you a jeep.

..and original question answered - I won't be posting in this thread again unless:

1. I have a friend selling stuff and I want to help him or her get a better price
2. It's a 'buy it now' item and I'm feeling nice (and not wanting the item myself).

You've killed my community spirit now boddington. I may make you taste one of my Uncle's kit brews.

Aww, I was only kidding don't be disconcerted.
Don't make me taste your uncles brew,
I'm trying to learn how to make REAL beer, don't want to kill off what tastebuds I have left.

And remember, if you don't post it someone else probably will :icon_cheers:

Probably only of interest to Canberra (or nearby) brewers, but I saw this interesting commercial catering contraption on a Fyshwick-based auction house:

http://www.allbids.com.au/Buy/?T=Stainless...s&ID=323192

it's a stainless-steel bench with two large mounted, tipping stockpots (don't know what capacity) hot/cold water fittings, and gas lines built in. Probably dozens of things a creative AGer could muster with this setup.

I've used the Allbids people a couple of times and they're pretty good - you can go and inspect anything before the auction closes, and you're dealing direct with the company, not a random vendor.

theres only 2 things that come out at fishwick: porn & fireworks. thus that contratpion worries me!!

i recon your right about an enterprising brewer finding a use for it. even if the bought it for the sole reason of butchering it for the stainless

Out of those two choices I'd have to go with some sort of fireworks application, for the life of me I can't really imagine it being used for porn, and I know I've not an active imagination. ;)

Is that chook food???
Whoever's selling it certainly knows what grain's in the barrels!
From Left to right back we have A light grain with 1/3 of a barrel, a slightly darker grain 1/3 of a barrel & a small light grain 1/4 of a barrel. Front left barrel is a darker grain with a full barrel, right barrel is a slightly lighter grain with only being 1/4
LOL!
