I stand corrected. Why would you want a gal jacket on a SS keg though?

I have no idea. They are quite old. At a guess i'd say it is just for insulation and a gal skin is cheaper than another layer of SS?
They also have a big arse rubber ball in them instead of SS plate and spring. They're a funny bit of history but probably useful these days as a keggle or mashtun since they're already insulated.

Looks very much like an old style Coopers to me. Well nearly $100.00 at about $80.00 for the full microbrewery kit <_<

They hold 4 but you need at least a 140 mm collar, not sure how this freezer would handle the head space though, considering it stuggles already.

that depends on why it is only going to 4.

if it is only going to 4 'cause the thermostat is u/s.. then all will be fine (as long as the thermostat doesn't get worse)...

on the other hand, if it only gets to 4 degrees 'cause it's low on gas, then yes it will struggle AND it will probably run all the time, and therefore cost a bomb in electricity.

a "cheap" fridge/freezer, that runs all the time 'cause it's low on gas, is false economy... a brand new efficient unit will quickly pay for itself
