I had Dodo many years back, back in the dial-up days. Connections were so slow I dropped them within 2 months.

I more recently did the iiNet thing (last ISP prior to my current). Was happy initially. They told me ADSL 1 was the best speed I could get, and I had to pay an extra $10 for the turbo option to get the full 8mb connection speeds. Their web hosting got hacked and my site got banner adds all through it and several pages went missing. I logged a call and they blamed me for having a simple password that was too venerable, after my 20 years in software development did they honestly think I would have had a simple password?. I accepted it as a one off and requested the site be restored from backup to a point of time I new it was ok A couple of days later I notice another site they host had the same banner adds. The restore was a joke, after many phone calls and emails I finally get put onto a tech who said they will do it, but he came back the following day saying they only have 1 months worth of backups and the my log was over 1 month old.

For the past few years, since iiNet, I've been with Commander which is a more a business focus telco. First thing I noticed when they connected me I had ADSL 2+ speeds at the full 24mb (top end router and close to a RIM) If you need big download limits they rock. Currently $85 a month for unlimited ADSL2, which is including the line. I've only needed tech support once from them, basically line drop outs after any rain. To which Telstra charged a $55 call out fee as they tested the line during a dry period and saw no drop outs. When I called inquiring about it Commander dropped the charge and said they will happily absorb it. It did take another call during the next wet days to get it resolved, but no longer any drop outs.

Commander used to be the PABX/Phone system arm of Telstra.

Unfortunatly it has been bounced around several different owners. its a bit of an unloved child. There focus keeps on changing. Its basically a name only now

+1 for TPG.
Been with them for years.
Also use their website and domain hosting.
Might as well get a $20 - $25 a month sim. Works for me!
