Difference Between Immersion Elements

Hey

I am just about to purchase an immersion heater (final peice of AG gear... hoooorah! :beerbang: ) off the tobins website (no affiliation etc) with a hook (unless someone can convince me to get a bent one instead, im not worried) and am just wondering what the difference is between plated and hi nickel alloy and any advantages/disadvantages with each?

Much of a muchness, I think the plated ones are better for hard water and they are shiny

I've got the cheaper ones 4108B and it does the job great - I've even stuck it in the mash and nothing stuck to it
