could i use my filter as a hopback?

Put this together from spare parts one day.
Is 2 hose to tap connectors, a bit of ss braid and I'm not sure of the name but i got it from the retic section of my hardware store (leftover from diy pool solar heater)

I normally use it from fermentor to secondary to remove hops. My wife thinks it not able to be cleaned well enough? I disagree, of course.

How do you think it will stand up to heat? I can always get a bigger middle section.

Can you use a normal hopback with pellets?

I wouldn't be touching any of those plastic parts in the photo with hot wort. There is no way it would hold together (IMO)
