with regard to soft solder as has been said before no good for brewery as common solder is 50 % lead and tin as i use at work with soldering galv and when soldering anything u need to use acid or a bakers soldering fluid tarnish the galv a bit or witg ohter material u need to kill the spirits a bit by using flux with on a bit of scrap material also u need a very hot iron not electic on but one heated in a soldering pot or by oxy...

Do you know whether that low heat rod (Bandidy about markets) that will solder just about anything to anything..is lead free...Had a brochure here but cant find it..
Used it years ago wacked a big hole in a coke can weded it up..
Still got some want to weld up big hole in stainless drum.(thin) maybe wont take brazing or silver heat..
