Hi,

This was my second real brew as such and have found after 3 weeks upon tasting it tastes like...well the only way I can explain it is like rust and have to spit it out.

It tasted fine before bottled when in the carboy and thought this was gonna be one nice beer. :(

I also currently have a Cascade lager in the carboy, which seems to have hints of rust flavour...any suggestions as to what could be going wrong?

Thanks
Dan

You aren't drinking the sediment are you? I guess yeast could be described as tasting like rust <_<

are you drinking the beer straight from bottles? The caps can rust, especially if you have put them in a sanitising solution just before capping.
Cheers
Stephen.

stale or oxidised beer from cans can taste rusty.
Old kits will do that to you.

So it may be technique (oxidation) or ingredients (older tins).

Didn't have the problem after going to extract brewing.

U may also get it from the water, of course.

Seth :p
