Are the Coopers PET bottles as good as glass? I am back brewing after a 4 year absence. Last time I was brewing I used old bottles but threw them out a few years ago.

Views on PET are welcome!!

thanks

Horses for Courses, I guess!

I use 90 PET bottles and they suit me. Young kids, townhouse living, light weight.

Throw them in a 60 litre bin to wash, pick it up easy.

No bottle bombs or broken glass. No give away "clink-clink" in my sly grog brewhaus.

An older mate of mine drinks mega swill out of the can, but ******* about beer in plastic.

Prick still drinks it tho.....

Mate I love them all for the above reasons , espicially when Im still learning . I dont particluarly like pulling broken glass out of my ceiling as the glass explodes.
I reckon as easy to clean 100% easier to cap. If you can taste the differnce with coke ( ie glass-plastic) should probably stick to milk..
Biggest chore with home brew is the capping.. take that away you will be surpised how much you will make and drink....

WELCOME TO A.A

I have 200 of them.Easy to wash, cap and carry around on a bottle tree.Drop an empty on a concrete floor and it doesn't smash.I read somewhere that carbonation may escape after six months but have not found that to be the case with any of my brews that have lasted for over six months.

I have had some longer than 6 months and they have been OK, but some I have just opened that are over 12 months are starting to loose their fizz.

Other than that they seem good, I use both glass and PET, I think it does taste a bit better out of glass, but that could just be my brain playing tricks.
