Hi all,

Does anyone have an opinion about putting the CO2 bottle in the fridge?

Will prevent having to put a hole in, and will allow the bottle, reg and line to be portable without having to dismantle. I have plenty of space, so that's not an issue.

My thoughts are that it would be fine. Anyone differ?

BenH.

Iron or alloy gas bottle?

Assume it's iron, as it's reasonably heavy for its size. I know that the guys who refill it freeze the bottle before refilling (presumably so that it can be filled more)

Ben, there is no problem with putting CO2 bottles in the fridge, if you have the space.

I have seen pictures of the gas bottle in the freezer........ i cant see a problem with it in the fridge.

I drilled a small hole in the back thaty effects nothing and with the bolttle in there its just using up space for anothetr keg.

cheers

- takes up space
- not sure if any condensation would feck the reg ...

Don't currently need to worry about space. Have a 500L chest freezer :beerbang: , but only 4 kegs and a couple of CC jerrys.

Been using mine inside (in chest freezer) for a long time and had no issues :D

mine is inside an upright freezer, still works...:)

As always with gas cylinders wherever they are, make sure its secured somehow when in use; should it discharge somehow it becomes a missile.

Yeah, did you see mythbusters when they shot a massive cylinder (not sure what size) through a brick wall?

Kinda scary.
