Closest to ...?

They still have very well stocked stores in Brighton and South Melbourne, BTW.

And Camberwell is not too far from Surrey "Purvis Cellars" Hills, is it not?

Purvis is definatly the best close-ish option, or dans down the bottom of the hill... Purvis wins for their range...

By public transport it's 2 train stops and a 20-30 minute tram ride so by car depending on traffic might be around 30 minutes all up.

We didn't actually close down, rather sold that store due to competing family interests. Yep Sth Melb and Brighton stores still run 250 - 300 beers each. We have a new beer project in the pipeline and will disclose more in due course.

cheers

what do you recon the chances are of cloud wine or purvis doing an melbourne AHB tasting. i recon they'd make more of a killing from that selected event than their general public specialist nights. IMHO

Pretty good chances I'd say...just need a few months.........we are working on a beer specific venue that can accomodate these sort of events..........

great news stew. bloody good news that a beer retailer is also a homebrewer,

not meaning to pry... we yes i am. but when you say 'sell the store'... does that mean the liqour license was sold to say dans or something...?

anyways looking forward to your future developments, hopefully in the area or camberwell, or close by ans south melb and brighton is way too much travel... keep up the good work.

cheers jimmy

That's ok. 'Sold' as in sold to an individual that will continue to run the store as a beer and wine outlet. Next project will be Hawthorn based but should be able to provide more details in ~3 weeks.
