I tried this beer last weekend and really liked it. Was at the markets and was surprised the guy that sells german sausages sugested I should buy some "german beer" when I asked if he sold water.

I was told it was light beer but only after drinking it I started to read the label and was amaized it is only less than 0.5% alcohol.(Alkoholfreies Bier) Makes sense if they sell it at the markets. However I wouldn't have noticed if I did not read it. I thought I was drinking something more like 3%. I think it has got quite a bit of hops.. cant tell which one, but has a resemblance to Heineken but it has its own style.

Imagine the face of some seniors sitting next to me and my 3yo son. They would have thought I got a drinking problem having my first one mid morning.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast, (now there was no comma between hops and yeast which I thought was a mistranslation from the German "Hopfenextrakt" also written in the bottle)
If I am right, does this mean there is still some yeast in this beer one can harvest? i guess this is very unlikely

Anyway, this is imported into Australia by Beach Avenue Wholesalers Pty. Ltd in Victoria.

Bought this in a mixed bunch of six from Purvis Cellars I think it was. Was really looking forward to drinking it over at a mate's when he laughed and pointed to the 'Alcoholfrei' on the label. Was totally bummed as I don't drink light beers per se. Gotta admit it was a nice drop, but don't think I'd go out of my way to drink it again.

Hopper.

Yeah, It tastes like real beer without alcohol. Handy for when driving. I found on line it is about 0.35%

Yes, this is the best alc-free beer on the market IMHO. Schlossgold is pretty good too. I don't mind Birrel, but it doesn't match the first two for genuine beeriness.

I'd rather have the real thing, of course. But when needs must the Devil drives. And if he's not driving, you might have to.
