I tried this beer last weekend and really liked it. Was at the markets and was surprised the guy that sells german sausages sugested I should buy some "german beer" when I asked if he sold water.
I was told it was light beer but only after drinking it I started to read the label and was amaized it is only less than 0.5% alcohol.(Alkoholfreies Bier) Makes sense if they sell it at the markets. However I wouldn't have noticed if I did not read it. I thought I was drinking something more like 3%. I think it has got quite a bit of hops.. cant tell which one, but has a resemblance to Heineken but it has its own style.
Imagine the face of some seniors sitting next to me and my 3yo son. They would have thought I got a drinking problem having my first one mid morning.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast, (now there was no comma between hops and yeast which I thought was a mistranslation from the German "Hopfenextrakt" also written in the bottle)
If I am right, does this mean there is still some yeast in this beer one can harvest? i guess this is very unlikely
Anyway, this is imported into Australia by Beach Avenue Wholesalers Pty. Ltd in Victoria.
